COVID19: King's Health Partners Clinical Fora

The “How I Manage COVID-19 Patients – Meet the Expert” Series

King's Health Partners have launched a virtual clinical fora series to provide an opportunity for the medical community to share clinical experience regarding COVID-19 across the globe.

Events occur every Tuesday at 1pm BST.

The May-July 2020 schedule features the following:

  1. Tuesday 5th May - 'Mechanical Ventilation of COVID-19 Patients' will be led by Professor Peter Spieth from the University Hospital Dresden, Germany. The fora will be chaired by Professor Anne Greenough, Director of Education and Training, King’s Health Partners.
  2. Tuesday 12th May - 'Front-line Psychological Interventions in Wuhan During COVID-19 Outbreak' will be led by Professor Chuan Shi from the Peking University Sixth Hospital/Institute of Mental Health. The fora will be chaired by Professor Paola Dazzan, Vice Dean (International), Institute of Psychiatry Psychology and Neurosciences, King’s College London
  3. Tuesday 19th May - 'Mental Health Service Challenge in China Under COVID-19 Pandemic' will be led by Professor Zhongchun Liu from the Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University. The fora will be chaired by Professor Ian Everall, Executive Dean, Institute of Psychiatry Psychology and Neurosciences, King’s College London
  4. Tuesday 26th May - 'Palliative Care Priorities for Patients with COVID-19' will be led by Dr Catherine Evans from King’s College London and Dr Richard Towers from King’s College Hospital. The fora will be chaired by Professor Ian Norman, Executive Dean, Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery and Palliative Care, King’s College London.
  5. Tuesday 2nd June - 'Infections in Immunocompromised Hosts' will be led by Dr Luis Fernando Camargo, Professor of Infectious Diseases in the Medical School, Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital and Associate Professor and Head of the Division of Infections in The Immunecompromised Host, Federal University of Sao Paulo.
  6.  Tuesday 9th June - 'COVID-19 Impact on Liver Transplantation in Italy: Surfing on Changing Scenarios' will be led by Professor Umberto Cillo, Professor of General Surgery and Director of the Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation Unit, Department of Surgical, Oncological and Gastroenterological Sciences, University of Padua, Italy. 
  7. Tuesday 16th June - 'Reflections and Practice on the Treatment of Severe and Critical COVID-19' will be led by Professor Haichao Li, Vice President of Peking University First Hospital and Professor of Respiratory and Critical Medicine, Peking University Health Science Centre. 
  8. Tuesday 30th June - 'Anti-inflammatory Therapies in COVID-19' will be presented by Professor Miguel Marcos Martín, Internist at the University Hospital of Salamanca and Professor at the University of Salamanca, Spain.  
  9. Tuesday 14th July - 'The Complications of "Treating" a Novel Infection Without Anti-infectives' will be presented by Dr Stephanie Sterling, Section Chief of Infectious Disease and Hospital Epidemiologist at NYU Langone Health-Brooklyn Hospital, and Assistant Professor at NYU School of Medicine.
